Geo-Targeting | SEO Strategies

Author: admin

Creating an SEO strategy for your web site requires more than just choosing what search engines and directories it should appear in. Another consideration is where and how your site should be listed geographically. Geo-targeting is a method of targeting specific traffic for your web site based on the geographical location of your business.

As more and more web users take advantage of the Internet as a purchasing and research tool, those same users are integrating local searches into their behaviors and habits. For example, people in the market to buy a plasma television are likely to spend time on the Internet searching for facts and information about plasma TVs. In the beginning, this information can be generic in nature. It doesn’t matter where it comes from, so long as it answers the customer’s questions.

As they work through the phases of the buying process, eventually users will begin pricing the television, a process that will also take place online. Geography is now becoming more important, but it’s not until the user is actually ready to buy that geography becomes essential. Because many users first research on the Internet and then purchase in a local store (or research and purchase on the Internet and pick up the merchandise in the store), those customers may look online for local stores that offer the brand and price they’re looking for. If your site isn’t listed in some kind of local directory or categorized on at least one level by location, you’ll miss out on those sales.

Broadband-enabled cell phones have also become a major reason to think about optimizing your site for location search. The widespread adoption of the iPhone and iPhone-like devices makes it possible for users to search for information — including actual locations — on the fly. These devices have become so prevalent (there are more than 200 different Internet-enabled devices to choose from in the U.S. alone) that some users are dropping their PC- and laptop-based Internet connections and relying solely on their handheld devices for Internet service. This makes geo-targeting even more important.

JavaScript | Programming Language

Author: admin

JavaScript is a programming language that enables web designers to create dynamic content. However, it’s not necessarily SEO-friendly. In fact, JavaScript often completely halts a crawler from indexing a web site, and when that happens the result is lower search engine rankings or complete exclusion from ranking.

To overcome this, many web designers externalize any JavaScript that’s included on the web site. Externalizing the JavaScript means that it is actually run from an external location, such as a file on your web server. To externalize your JavaScript:

  1. Copy the code, beginning at the starting tags, and paste it into a Notepad file.
  2. Save the Notepad file as filename.js.
  3. Upload the file to your web server.
  4. Create a reference on your web page to the external JavaScript code. The reference should be placed where the JavaScript will appear, and might look like this: <script language=”JavaScript” type=”text/javascript” src=”filename.js”></script>

This is just one of the solutions you can use to prevent JavaScript from becoming a problem for your SEO efforts. There are many others, and depending on your needs you should explore some of them.

Using powerful titles

Author: admin

Page titles are one of the most important elements of site optimization. When a crawler examines your site, the first elements it looks at are the page titles; and when your site is ranked in search results, page titles are again one of the top elements considered. Therefore, when you create your web site, you need great page titles.

Consider several key factors when coming up with your page titles:

  • Unless you’re Microsoft, don’t use your company name in the page title. A better choice is to use a descriptive keyword or phrase that tells users exactly what’s on the page. This helps to ensure that your search engine rankings are accurate.
  • Try to limit page titles to less than 50 characters, including spaces. Some search engines index only up to 50 characters; others might index as many as 150. Regardless, maintaining shorter page titles forces you to be precise in the titles that you choose and ensures that your page title will never be cut off in the search results.
  • Don’t repeat keywords in your title tags. Repetition can occasionally come across as spam when a crawler is examining your site, so avoid that in your title if possible, and never duplicate words just to gain a crawler’s attention. It could well get your site excluded from search engine listings.
  • Consider adding special characters at the beginning and end of your title to improve noticeability. Parentheses (()), arrows (<<>>), asterisks (****), and special symbols such as ££££ can help draw a user’s attention to your page title. These special characters and symbols don’t usually add to or detract from your SEO efforts, but they do serve to call attention to your site title.
  • Include a call to action in your title. There’s an adage that goes something like, ‘‘You’ll never sell a thing if you don’t ask for the sale.’’ That’s true on the Web too. If you want your users to do something, you have to ask them.

All of your page titles should be indicated with the title tag when you code your web site. The title tag isn’t difficult to use. Here’s an example of such a tag:

<title>A Descriptive Web Site Title</title>

If your page titles aren’t tagged properly, you may as well not be using them, so take the time to ensure that your page titles are short, descriptive, and tagged into your web site code. By using title tags, you increase the chances that your web site will be ranked high within search engine results.

How to have a successful website?

Author: admin

Search engine optimization is not an easy task, lots of things must be considered when doing such thing. Like for example, having a high page rank or maybe at least a small green color mark on your page rank bar is hard to achieve. What that mark indicates is the importance of your page, it is non sense if you acquired that the wrong way, it will be removed later on. For your page to be considered important, you must have unique and good contents which are updated regularly. One thing that I notice about page rank is, once you stop updating your page and so as loosing that green color, maybe because there is nothing new.

Another thing is traffic, it is basically the volume of viewers coming in to your site which is also very important. How to get this takes a lot of hard work. You have to list your site on directories like in DMOZ and BOTW, of course you have to list your site on where category it belongs. Like for example you have established your business related site, of course you have to list that on a business web directory. Basically, that is all that is needed to have a successful web site.

A great way to promote.

Author: admin

Blog is a powerful tool to share anything that is in within you, like your thoughts, opinions, different kind of ideas and even promoting something. Basically, a blogger writes what ever he or she likes to. Of course each post should not violate any ethics, even though you you can, just try not to. Anyway, a blog site usually have many readers and every time an author publishes a post or article it automatically send an alert in a form of RSS or email subscriptions. In that way, avid readers will know that there is a new post for them to read. The idea here is pretty much basic, if a blogger chooses to promote a website for example, he can easily promotes it because he have many readers. If a third party wants to advertise on this blog, this is very effective.

Often times, an advertiser can select blogs that are related to what they are promoting. In that way, they can filter out most of the targeted readers, which is very efficient. After the the blogger broadcasts the advertisement, the blogger will gain some extra cash as an exchange for his or her hard work. Pretty exciting isn’t it? Just remember, to put a lots of good and new contents everyday.

How to write one?

Author: admin

Often times, students are bothered by making essay paper. They are always having a hard time thinking of how they will going to produce a good paper on time, simply because ideas are not around. I can say that, it happens to me back then. The first time I made those papers, I had a hard time finishing a single one. It is even tougher if all professors requires you make one and pass it all at the same deadlines. I personally think that it was chaos for me back then. For some other smart dudes it’s only a piece of cake, but I am not that smart. Well actually there are lot of options of making one, of course I did not made my papers the wrong way. How about asking some one to help you, or you may use the power of the Internet.

Practically speaking, two heads are better than one. It is not illegal to ask someone for help, you are simply getting fresh ideas or maybe opinions by others for your papers. I manages to get some papers from an essay writing company, they are very good on these. I elaborate that a little more with my own ideas, then there you have it, a very nice essay. Or if you like, try to construct your essay coming from your own ideas and then give to a quality essay editing company. In that way, the ideas within your essay will be more elaborated. Actually, it is basically the easiest way of making one and yet the outcome are outstanding. If you are having trouble of making one, try to look for online essays for sale.

This coming holiday.

Author: admin

Thanks giving is coming soon and I’m very excited. I remember when I was a kid, I used to wait for Santa Claus under the Christmas tree. It is so fun being a kid, you got no problem to worry about, you just wait for blessings to come in. Until now, the thought that Santa is real still sticks in to my mind. You know, it is so fun when you are believing on something or someone.

One of the coolest part of the holiday are the different types of goodies like gifts, cash gifts, bonuses and most of all the foods. My aunt always have all sorts of Christmas candy to give away. She usually bought them online, so they are so good and comes with different designs and colors. Christmas cakes are also the main part of the foods on the table. We used to buy one from the local bakery, but nowadays they easy to buy online. They have a wide variety of designs, colors, flavors, etc.

This coming holiday, we will be visiting my relatives and spent Christmas with them. It is so fun when you and your family have this get together during his occasion. Have this meal together and share the blessings to each other. Then extended the talk at the garden while drinking a cup of tea. I also planned to bring tea that I will buying online, my friend actually gave me one bag for me to try. And I like it, he said that he bought that online. And I guess this is perfect for this coming holiday.
